Soaps for dry skin

All the soaps of the Savonnerie des Diligences have additional moisturizing properties, but the soaps Mère-Grande (Lavender, Shea Butter and Calendula) are particularly for sensitive and reactive skin. This soap contains essential oil of lavender, which repairs and soothes the skin, and 5% shea butter which helps protect and repair the skin. We use olive oil soaked in calendula, a medicinal plant that helps to reduce irritations. We also have also Mama Africawhich contains 50% of shea butter.

What is dry skin?

Dry skin is the result of a decrease in the production of sebum, the natural oil needed by the skin to keep it moist and lubricated. Because dry skin has a reduced sebaceous barrier, water easily evaporates through it.

What are the common symptoms of dry skin?

  • Itchy, easily irritated skin
  • Skin is rough, with fine flakes and dry patches
  • Skin may appear red or grey and ashen
  • Skin is more prone to wrinkles and cracks

There are many causes of dry skin - like dry air or aging - but ironically, one of the most common causes of dry skin is your soap.

Soap for oily skin

Clay soap clay soap and grapefruit Siren, from the Savonnerie des Diligences, regulates the oils by being a little astringent, without being too rough for the skin. It is gentle, but effective in regulating the oils of the skin or body oils, an excellent choice for athletes or people with sportsmen or people with skin or hair oily or with a tendency acne-prone skin or hair. All soaps containing charcoal are also very suitable for regulating oils on the face.

What causes oily skin?

Oily skin is the result of excessive sebum secretion. It tends to attract more dirt and dust than dry skin and can be prone to blackheads and acne.

If your skin is prone to acne, dead skin cells clog pores, trapping oil and bacteria inside. As the bacteria grow, it can cause the skin to become inflamed, leading to pimples.

Citrus oil soaps are traditionally recommended for oily skin. They work by balancing the oils in the skin, not by drying it out.

What are the common symptoms of dry skin?

  • Characteristics of oily skin
  • Larger, more visible pores
  • A shiny complexion
  • Blackheads, pimples or other blemishes

Commercial soaps and body washes contain harsh detergents, fragrance oils and other synthetic chemicals that can dry and irritate skin. Always cleanse the skin gently. Rough rubbing does not reduce oil production and may actually make the problem worse.

Hair soap

You can wash your hair with any soap from the Savonnerie des Diligences except the one that exfoliates. Olive oil is ideal for hair care. It regulates the amount of oil on the scalp and can solve both oily and dry hair problems. We also have bars like Madame Tignasse, Aux petits soins du cheveu, Riverain or Maritime that help promote the vitality, health and growth of your hair.

For best results, wet your hair and rub the bar through your hair until it lathers. Lather with your fingers before immediately rinsing the hair. Scrub to make sure all the shampoo is rinsed out. Repeat if necessary.

Whether it's soap, shampoo or any other body product, Savonnerie des Diligences makes quality products for you.
